the American Institute for Stuttering
I recently had the opportunity to learn more about the American Institute for Stuttering. While I had been to the organization’s website, it wasn’t until my Zoom meeting with Dr. Heather Grossman and Bridget Scully that I really gained an understanding and deep appreciation for what this organization stands for and how significant a resource it is for individuals who stutter, of which I am one.
Dr. Grossman shared the Institute’s philosophies, her experience and insights in a call that left me impressed and thankful that this organization exists.
After I told my story about a lifelong battle with stuttering, obsessive-compulsive tendencies, suicide, and depression, I was invited to participate in some of the Institute’s programs. I am thankful for the invitation and look forward to building a relationship with the organization and its broader community
